Sonshine Christian Academy
SonShine Christian Academy is a preschool/kindergarten located on the grounds of the Church of Christ at Old Harbour. From the beginning of this church planting effort, we have worked to develop local leadership and local programs that would assist the Jamaican church to have long-range success and sustainability.
As part of a complete church planting effort for the church in Old Harbour, SonShine Christian Academy is a preschool/kindergarten program (that Herko Family Mission built and started) designed to:
Be used as a tool for witnessing to families and bringing them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!
Provide quality, Christ-centered educational opportunities for 3-5 year old children in the Old Harbour community.
Help the Church of Christ at Old Harbour grow numerically and financially.
Nearly 50 percent of all children, ages 3-5, are unable to attend preschool. As a result, many children are not adequately prepared for elementary school and they quickly fall behind.
The Church at Old Harbour has ownership of this school and part of what Herko Family Mission does as a mission, is to support SonShine Christian Academy.
